Clinical Psychologist – children’s residential
Shire Healthcare are recruiting for a Clinical Psychologist to work within a residential childcare service in Penrith, Cumbria.
Role snapshot:
The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological leadership across residential care, education, outdoor learning and therapeutic services, supporting children and young people with complex needs, developmental trauma and attachment difficulties.
You will provide psychological consultation, formulation, assessment and clinical guidance, while contributing to risk management, clinical governance, training, service development and multidisciplinary working.
Contract type – Permanent
Hours – Full-time
Salary – £65,000–£70,000
Location – Penrith, Cumbria
Experience required:
- HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
- Significant experience assessing and supporting children and young people with complex presentations.
- Experience with developmental trauma, attachment and emotional regulation.
- Experience working within residential childcare or Ofsted-regulated services.
- Experience of safeguarding, risk assessment and multidisciplinary working.
- Experience working with, or a strong interest in, children involved in the Criminal Justice System.
